PAS 43 is the specification as published
by the British Standard Institution and sponsored
by Government, the Police Service, motoring services
organisations and the motoring industry. It aims to
improve the safety of breakdown and recovery operator’s,
their employees and customers in breakdown and recovery
situations.
PAS 43 is not presented as an ISO
9001 sector scheme. However, PAS 43 users are advised
to consider the desirability of quality system assessment
and registration against ISO 9001 by an accredited
certification body.
Accreditation
is now available from UKAS to quality
management system certification bodies and vehicle
inspection bodies for the certification / inspection
of recovery & breakdown operators against the
requirements of PAS 43.

SURVIVE is a partnership between
the Government, the Police Service, motoring services
organizations and the motoring industry, which aims
to improve the safety of breakdown and recovery operators’
employees and customers in breakdown and recovery
situations. |
